The Story

Located in Girdwood Alaska, Virgin Creek Falls is an otherworldly location, with morning light streaming through the mist from the falls and turning the foliage into a fairyland. I photographed this location from multiple angles for more than two hours, including entering the frigid flows with my camera in the dive housing to explore some unique angles including the underwater landscape. In the end, I prefer this image shot traditionally, standing in the river with the camera on my trusty tripod.
