The Story

Queens Bath on Kauai is a magical spot! I love the contrasting tones here, with the setting sun lighting up the waterfall with these beautiful warm shades, while the black rocks in the shade kept their cool blue colors. 

This one will forever be special, as my wife and I were celebrating our honeymoon when this was captured. This angle is one that cannot (or should not?!) always be explored, as the ocean is generally too rough to allow safe access for someone down at the water level like this. I was fortunate to time our visit with a fairly low swell and my beautiful new wife remained above to watch for any rogue waves coming in. If you visit this spot, please be mindful of the danger associated with the ocean in places like this. Many people have died here, some probably attempting to capture this same angle in a photograph.
